    Chinstrap and String Opinions

Looking to purchase a chinstrap and string. How do these look? The chinstrap buckle is not sewn in place, but held by a gromett. Is this period construction?

If it's for reenactment, it can be OK, but only for that. Don't dishonour an original helmet with these...

I too never put a post war parts on an orginial helmet.

But, What is wrong with the liner string. Looks a little too wide, but otherwise looks ok?

Yes, that is a post war chinstrap, not sure about the liner string.

              The chinstrap is a repro.
The linerstring looks original to me too.

Yes , I agree the chinstrap is postwar. The drawstring? Who
knows? Looks a little rough to me. Not the type I prefer to see.

I'm afraid the drawstring is as bad as the chinstrap, very little doubt about this.

I don't like the drawstring. The weave isn't very tight, also the thickness of the drawstring is a bit of a worry.
