Unknown Helmet

Hi chaps,

Can anyone tell me about this helmet, it seems to be made of aluminium. However the liner has 4 attachments. I'm guessing it was either a lightweight cavalry helmet or some sort of civil/fire helmet?

Looks like a post war civil helmet of some sort .Rob

Looks like a vulkan fiber with a steel rim riveted in place. Those four tabs are for fixing a leather neck shield to protect against heat, water and debris. So it is a fire helmet I think.

Many thanks for this - I think it is a fire helmet as the owner says it is also! However I thought I had stumbled across a cheap lightweight and got all excited!!

Absolutely a fireman helmet used also during the sixties!
