          Thank you everyone

I just joined WAF this month and have learned so much. I was bidding on Mr. Steele's ebay auction just today and was looking to pay a few hundred dollars for this helmet. I then read this WAF and retracted my bid. Thank you for saving me the potential trouble.

I began collecting helmets six month ago and trying to educate myself the best I can. Unfortunately, given that I'm a new collector, I have not had the time or the mechanism to effectively review and examine all the various real / orginal helmets. Therefore the members of this forum is providing a great service to new collectors like me and our hobby by promoting and enforcing integrity and honor.

Although nothing is 100%, I recently bought a Heer SD M40 helmet from Estand and felt very comfortable with my purchase. This can be attributed to the strong power of the combined members of this great forum!

I do hope to get a chance to meet many of you in person at future shows. Kind regards to everyone.

As a new member I have been watching this thread for a while. This mr steele fellow with all the evidence presented here is nothing short of a fraud,he has nothing short of ripped someone off, got caught, hasnt fronted:thieves never do:Can't apoligise to people because he knows he's dead in the water. Maybe you need a site on the forum for members to look at that show the dodgy dealers and fakers out there and then they can look and make their own opinion. I, like many others who probably have been ripped off at least once or more by someone in their life, just don't need this grief. Down south here if we get ripped off by someone and we know where the guy lives we go round and sort it:if you know what i mean. So what you need to do is make anybody aware ie ebay bidders etc that the man is no good.I have been doing it to a guy for ages who ripped off me and some friends a while back his name will be aired here later if thats ok.Collecting becomes a drag when you can't trust people, you may as well be happy with what you have got and do something else. Nigel. Ps let this not deter us.

Great. The shell is original and that is about it.

              Welcome to the Forum.

"This helmet could not be more untouched original. Paid $600.00. M42 no decal heers are going for that now. Helmet is from a vet estate in Colorado. Alright do not believe me. It is the truth though. I do not buy form dealers. I have been collecting for 25 years. The helmet has been exposed to mositure this why it has rust bubbling through the decal. Liner band is zinc coated and has left a white corrossion on the shell. The strap is original."

David Copperfield would be hard pressed to pull off a better disappearing act. That original decal lost a battle with a piece of duck tape. He is a complete and total toss pot. We are better off without him. He was fishing for a buyer here.

He once told me to "get some experience". I've been collecting while he was still pooping his diapers.
At least I learned one thing from this. I gotta offer more than $900 to beat Glenn for Heer M43 hats!

We still need a place to put the names of dodgy dealers??????

We are seeing so many of these dodgy dealer/member threads these days that I think the forum should create a new sub-forum listing all these threads so that all these scum are not forgotten and new members can check them out first.

                        What say the mod team?

I would support such an initiative 100 %. It is long overdue. Maybe we can include a general e-stand feedback system, positive or negative. Members can access this and make up their own minds before they purchase something. Jacques
