        Hello
That is a nice original one IMO.
The leather was most likely treated in order to revive it ( see the thread by Spin)

I beg to differ, reproduction liner and post-war (what ever they are) rivits. Worth nominal money IMHO.

            Hello
May we know why you think that ?
The liner is the right one ,the rivet are brass and correct for a M35 helmet.

I dont believe this liner is ground dug. Also, the fact that the liner band is quite bent/tampered with, seems to confirm my thought. I could be wrong though.

My PERSONAL opinion is that the liner looks to have been replaced,

Could very well be a replaced liner but you are completely right!, these brass rivets are typical for the M35 steel helmet.

I love the shell - but also do not like the liner at all.

Personally, I think the liner is an original one. The holes that take the string are stretched and elongated, indicateing use. It also has the appearance of age, but not the sort of ageing that occurs to leather that has been under ground ( they go black). It is a fair replacement, and makes a nice original but 'assembled' helmet. Yes, I think it is worth the money as a real wartime combat helmet. It would make an attractive display item in any collection.

                            Regards Mr Slug.

Maybe you should ask for close up pics of the liner. Liner looks original from pics provided, but I have my concerns that it belongs to this helmet originally. It still has the stitching, which I believe most ground dug helmets don't have anymore.
                              Just my opinion.
