Fake decal.......you can take it from there.

Can you give me an idea on how to tell this is a fake decal? Had I found this at a flea market or yard sale I would've been convinced this is original.

This looks more like it is pretending to be a 'Normandy' than a DAK.

The paint looks all wrong anyway...............and I think the chin strap may be a fake !.........it looks more like a label.

I dont have fighting dogs in this, just a personal opinion, I may be wrong etc, etc, etc

I just went and looked at this in person with a guy who's been collecting German for about 40 years. The helmet AND decal are real, no doubt! In the picture is does look Normandy but it's because a section of the yellow paint is discolored by whatever destoyed the liner. It either was blood or maybe intense heat or fire. It did just come from an estate and is has not been touched.

Believe the item, not the story. Helmet looks bad from the pictures. I would tread very carefully.
