If I remember correctly it is alledged to have come from the area near Falaise.
    I'll get back to you...

"A dimple pointing upward " is exactly how it is! Now this is getting interesting. KIA in France, possibly in Falaise. More than I could have ever hoped to know when i humbly posted the helmet.
Mike Osbourne, I do appreciate your going the extra mile to inform me of this Thank you, very much

      Michael,
Sorry I can't seem to find the photos. I did sell it in June of 2006 on ebay. The buyer was "Cannon616" who is in Australia. If you are able to contact him you may be able to trace it back to the States.

The dimple looks as if someone was preparing to mount it on a grave marker or a fence post but were dissuaded by the thickness of the steel. I regret ebay does not keep all of the info in the data base for extended periods. I will continue and if I can locate the one who sold it to me in the first place, I will pass the information on to you for further research. If my memory serves, this was "found in a shed in a farm near Falaise" - it would be good to be able to verify this. I am glad you have it it is an undoubted original. Please PM me if you have a chance as I'd like to know how much it has appreciated in value since I sold it.

      -Mike

Last post of the day - still looking for old pic, but no luck so far. By comparision here is "poor man's DD combat police" - you can see similar wear on the decals here.
