Salty DD SS M40 ; is it real?

Hello for the first time, Helmet Forum. I am not an expert or even close, with helmets, however, I want to have an original example of an honest SS helmet . Does the one I already have(said to be an "DD SS M40") meet with the forum's approval as ,a rusty and in poor shape, but honestly original SS helmet?

I'd say it's real. You should wax those boards and get them in the water dude.........! Looks like they have been in the garage too long....! What's the story on the helmet? Where did you get it? Regards, Chris

Hello Chris, glad to hear you think the helmet is real, I just want one real SS helmet, and I will be happy. I got the helmet right here on the estand awhile back before I really asked questions on any of the forums, and I hope to learn more through discussion on my helmet
ummmm, I was afraid someone might notice the boards. (I have to get my ear drilled out cuz of surfer's ear--so the boards DO stay in the garage now)
