This helmet was given to me by my uncle. He had it in his basement since he got it from another family member who served during the war. It is my only unmessed with helmet. I have 3 others but when i got them they have been repainted/refurbed so i use them for reenacting.

The 3 in the back are the ones i use for reenacting. one in the front is only untouched orig.

Looks completely messed with if you ask me. Rotted out Norwegian liner, missing rivet washers, laquered shell, and appears to have had some sort of decal on front that has been removed...... I don't think it looked like this during WWII.... Sorry.

        Hello
I don't agree with some of the comment from the previous post
The liner is 100% German ,well beyond used ( that is the word) that is all.
The shell was varnished so it appears , or heavily oiled.
Regarding the liner rig being original to this shell , well I am not sure , if it is untouched , I would expect to see a dust build-up , better pictures of that area would help.
        The decal is original .
        Regards

            Hello
Do you have some pictures of the rivets ?
From what I see , the liner rig is dated 1940 , so , it is unlikely that this liner is original to this helmet.

I'll get pictures of the rivets tomm. If its not original to the helmet was prob replaced before it was picked up by the vet. Also if they had stockspiles of stuff they could have put it in.

Regardless of the ultimate determination on this helmet... WELCOME to the forum!! I too am a reenactor/collector (can you guess by my screen name?) and I have learned more here in 1 year than in 15 years of collecting "alone."
