Unfortunately, yes....It's orange paint, though...I'm toying with the idea of removing it, since it wasn't Heer issue...)

I'd leave it the way it is. Its not distracting. You'll never see it when the helmet is upright. If you leave it up on a shelf you'll eventually forget all about the paint.

Nice combat helmet. I'd leave the orange paint there...... It's part of the history of the helmet now. I have several helmets with such "garage paint spots and drips" on them, and in them. Regards, Chris
