You have a nice M40 there. Decals and paint obviously real, as already confirmed by Ken, who knows his stuff. I might point out a couple of interesting and unusual characteristics as well, that make it even a bit nicer. It is rather unexpected to see an unbordered Police decal on an M40, and it is also unusual to see a standard M31 combat liner in a beaded helmet. Both nice little extras in my opinion. Do all the rivets look untampered and bent only once, and with the slotted washers intact?

As far as a value, I'd guess somewhere in the neighborhood of a grand for all 4 helmets total.

yes. When I got there he had the three m1s sitting with the bead and basically said go ahead and take these too. I was on vacation thurs through today and all i could think of was getting back and having the pros tell me yes its good or no its bad. I didnt even really enjoy my vacation. The guy that sold it said he would take it back if it was bad. Its nice there are still some honest people in the world.

the rivets are not straight or tight, but they dont look like theyve been messed with a bunch of times. yeah the washers are there. The m31 leather is in pretty good shape, still somewhat soft. I also after looking at many police helmets on this site, now believe the split pins are original to the helmet. Thanks for the appraissal and compliments. For only spending $350 for all four helmets, I guess I did pretty good.

Nice helmets. The center M1 has what looks to be either a hood rubber or St.Claire low pressure liner in it. Nice early varaint liner.

ill take some pics of the us ones today and post them on the us section. i looked at the liner and couldnt see a mark, but its kind of dirty
