I see you haven't made much progress on your issues Hey I was just agreeing with the others... which is what "ditto" means, which obvious you don't understand. And I have the right to post agreements with those other posts if I want to and they were appropriate. You may not like it but to bad. You just can't handle being challenged by those other experts that know more than you. You think I'm an easy target... you are much easier

One and only warning for all concerned: Please keep comments confined and/or limited to originality of the helmets here.

If you want to act like 10 year olds, go find a playground.

Hey, Jim (Killerbee), your SS helmets sound like they have some very interesting backgrounds. Could you share a picture or two of them? Thanks in advance!

Not sure what the point is in this thread. I think every serious helmet collector should see that the 3 HJ helmets that started the thread are bad to the bone. Even from these blurry pics.
I cannot understand this made it up to 5 pages.

As for what can be found in Germany from vets or widows, it sounds like paradise what Mr. Killerbee is telling. Well I can tell you it isnt. Iam deep into it but to find an untouched helmet from a German vet is like Christmas and birthday alltogether. Let alone a HJ Flakhelper helmet. I highly doubt they did ever exist.

Just my two cents of course.

My grandfather was in the SS and THE LAST THING he wanted to be caught with after the war is SS stuff. The US. military paid him a visit in 1946 and told him to surrender any items other than photographs that had ANYTHING to do with the NAZI party. With the exception of a few very easily hide-able medals he gave them everything. NOW, I do have family friends in Germany who have told me their great-grandfather pushed a whole stash of SS items under the floorboards of their duplex in 1945. However, the side of the duplex this was done on is now the property of another family and the LAST thing they want to do is go pulling up floorboards in someone elses house in Germany and explain what it is they are looking for.

What army lets POW's keep their helmets and take them home??? If a German soldier went on leave with a helmet and came back to the front without it... he was in SERIOUS trouble! I know 6 German vets, half were captured in Russia and the other half were lucky to be captured by the Allies. NONE came home with ANYTHING. The poor Russian POWs wore their stuff for 5 years and when it wore out they were given old Russian rags to wear. POWs in Allied cages were picked clean then issued with POW garb. The SS ones took off as much SS insignia as they could to avoid "special treatment."

I have friends who just returned from Germany as the lady was born there and was in the Hitler Youth as a child. She knows of my interest in TR items and was on the lookout for anything TR on her trip for me. She said none of the relatives she spoke to had anything nor did they know of anyone who did have anything. I dont know if this was such a good thing to try and erase TR from Germany altogether as people want what they cant have (I dont want to start a debate here) I mean to say people want to be proud of where they came from and will search for thier past. I in my ignorance started this thread with my three rare helmets, Robb please post pictures of the one you obviously purchased

yes, thats one of these posted today from ROBB. I watched them for months. They come from a group of Austrian sellers, maybe only some with a dozen accounts. All sell the same typical fakes, but all seller have 100 percent positive evaluations, although they sell only fake helmets.
And not one helmet auction ended below 151 Euros, most ended with 151 Euros (dont ask why???), somtimes around 200 to 300 Euros. Mostly the fake Luft DAK and the KM fakes go that high, as you can see in the sellers evaluations.
