What do people want when they send you this pictures. That we say ohh my, this is a nice original? Pictures are always to small when it comes to helmets.

does it have an SS decal? I could be wrong but I don't think the wear on the paint looks right.

Is it supposed to be tropical or a discoloured winter camo?

Going from those bright distanced pictures I suspect it. I don't see wear where you normaly expect to find it. But I'm taking into account I'm viewing pictures taken at a distance in direct sunlight...

I really hate giving opinions on camos...

...afterall a man painting his helmet in 2003 isn't all that far
removed from a man painting his helmet in 1943. Kick it around
the driveway a couple of times and there you go.

I hate to say it's good and let some SOB fool me, but I hate to
say it's bad and condemn an important artifact. Close hands-on
scrutinization (or nostrilization) is required.

Anyway Nick, I have the feeling your going to turn this thing to
the side and the cheesiest SS decal we ever saw is going to
give up the whole jig!

Here is the largest picture I've got. I can't help it but the decal doesn't ring a bell at first sight. But why would the camo paint be so far from the decal?

Can't really see any detail of the decal from that pic, would need a closer one...
Notice how the camo goes all the way the the rim without much wear..plus I would have to admit I'm biased to any solid tan camo'd M42...

This helmet has something more that is bad even from a distance. And thats the liner

If it's the guy I'm thinking of he carries a "mixed bag" of real and repo...Just have to know what your looking at as he definately leaves that up to the buyer....

Hard to say at that distance, well worn liners get that dark...the camo concerns me the most...
