Help me please...M-42 helmet
I've been pondering about this helmet and thinking about what ROBB (post #14) was saying about it being a glued on piece of paper. But going back to posts #10 and #11 they both feel that it's original and one even remembers see a helmet with this same decal.
My new question is, did the Nazi's ever glue paper to helmets and use them as decals or did they always use water transfers? Being a non-combat helmet could this be the right type of decal? I have ran my finger nail where the decal meets the helmet and you can feel a "step up" to the decal. Is that right? I know that this will change everything about this helmet...originality, rareness, price, and probably even desirability as then it is only an M-42 no decal helmet, but if others have seen simular helmets like this, is it right to have this type of decal? I can only hope that this one is right as well. Rob.
