Hi guys, I don't know much about helmets and just acquired this one. It has me a bit concerned. The markings in the back are hard to make out, like they were stamped by hand or something. And the vent hole seems strange to me. Looks shaped like an M35 vent hole, but one piece on this M42 helmet. Thoughts?

The marking is fine and depicts 'hkp' which was earlier known as SE. The vent hole is ok too. You just don't see these shells that often...that's why it looks strange.

I agree, from those pictures there's nothing wrong with this one Harry...is it possible to post the entire helmet?
The one I posted some weeks ago ( M42 out of the woodwork-thread) is also a hkp ( SE) made shell.

Nothing wrong with the maker stamp or vent hole...
I had a M40SD Heer some time ago that had a vent hole shaped like that one but if I recall it wasn't a hkp, it could have been but I don't remember. Those vent shapes are encountered...
