I agree with this philosophy, Chris : for the same price, better one wonderful piece than 15 crappy ones... As you said, this one will be difficult to upgrade.

Will your wife mind if you sleep with it for a few nights ???

And this one was originally bought for $10 at a yard sale here in my town by a antique picker. She would have passed on it then but her son told her "Mommy I want that Army helmet" after buying it she looked it up on the internet and realized she had something..she in turn called up a local dealer sold it to him and 2 hrs later called me and it made it's way into my collection. Untill it made it to me both didn't really know the full magnitude of what they had....

too bad, you weren't yard sale shopping that day, Perry. Even, better could you imagine walking up to a yard sale and seeing a kid walking back to his car with something like that.

              Perry,

I always admire that KM. Nice deep tone about it.

                Perry,

Forgot to mention the other one you posted, different in tone, has that magnificent bright gold appearance. Nice that you have such a contrast in this range.

This one's the only DD KM in my collection, thanks for the comments though, still a little short of CBSPERRY's new KM. Philippe posted a killer one as well...

I'd never accept such a helmet to sleep in a garage !!!

                      Take care of it...

To illustrate the point I was trying to make earlier about photographs not being the best method of identifying KM over toned Heer decals, I have put together this pic.

Now, without cheating, who wants to step up and identify the KM and the toned heers?

                          I'd say that N° 2, 4 and 5 are real KMs.
                          (but I have a doubt on #3)

What's the price for the winner ?

                            1,6 are Heer
                            4,5 are KM
2,3 I'm unsure, need to examine first hand to be 100% sure

Made up my mind : #3 is a KM too.

                                IMO #4 & #5 are KM's and #2 is a probable.
