Nice helmet but I wouldn't pay extra$ for the wire on it

does anyone else have mixed feelings about the decal? looks like the ones discussed here a while back, lacks the silvery/gold content, kinda flat looking with no depth to it, or is it just my monitor?....

That decal is 100% original. Metallic content is different than with other types.

If I saw this at a show I'd say "real SD, bad wire." The wire looks like it was added yesterday. There is no interaction betwen the metals after laying on one another for 60+ years? Also, there is no dust or dirt under the wire on the paint. ALSO... all the "garage paint" as we call it (the white smears and blobs of paint that are on so many helmets from improper storage in a garage or workshop) are all UNDER the wire. A bad thing indeed. None of the things you want to see are there in my opinion. Of course it COULD be real, but alarm bells are ringing like mad and all I see are thumbs up from people. The more I learn from this forum the more the things that happen here confuse the hell out of me....

              Nice SD in any case!

Thanks Mike, you just spared me about an hour of one finger typing !.......
Exactly sums up my own thoughts,

Really nice helmet, tarnished by 'iffy' wire...........Circumstance of aquisition is what would make or break here,
but that only reassures the first, not subsequent owners .

                Regards to all, Mr Slug.
