Yep, Perry, I also think that there's a nick out of the eye, such a large black eye would be impossible if genuine...

Here's an identical decal that is applied on a re-issued Mod 16, currently for sale by the Collectorsguild.

Early, grey lined, Wehrmacht eagle decal is retained about 95% with a few small scuffs...

The seller also state that this is an early ' grey lined ' decal...

I see nothing wrong with his but he has it listed as a transitional. It's a reissue.
I think your decal is 100% right.
