Luft M40 d/d?

Just how rare are Luft M40 d/d helmets? There's one on Ebay that looks good... Item # 2173219606

Some will tell you that they don't exist. Others will say that they in fact do. IF they do, they are pretty darn rare.

As to the helmet shown: why would a refit still maintain the national shield. If it were factory refurbished, it would have most likely been repainted and no shield applied.

I don't like the helmet. But, that's just me.

It's right that the liner is a remount ; but I'd like to hear more about this decal... Pretty wide, isn't it, or it it my eyes ?

I agree it looks too fat. Curvature of shield is too rounded. It does show layering it has to be said, but none the less not good in my opinion.

Have attached one in a similar state, the difference is apparent.

I'm afraid that with a good regime, it would have been tricky to detect this bad boy. A great ageing job also... moremad
