One of the things a faker can't duplicate is the chemical reaction between the two metals that takes place over 60 years on a REAL wire helmet. It's not just rust, but there are other visible changes to the metal that just can't be faked. The majority of the wire helmets you see are bad, I am sad to say. I think this one is too.

Correct although it can be faked good enough to mimic the real thing from a photo(the reaction from the chickenwire). In hand it it's immediately noticed its not the real deal.
