M-40 SS Opinions Please

This is a SS single decal M-40 that once belonged to me that I may be getting back in my collection. I know the pictures are bad but it is all I have and really want everyones opinion on this.

It has been field painted with thick gray paint and redecaled.
Helmet shows heavy combat use, is named and has a 1940 aluminium liner.
Although it is worn the decal looks 100% correct to me and comes from a good source.

Anyway you can post a close straight on shot of the decal? I'd rather look at a close clear pic for a comment on this one..

I think this is best I got. I realize they aren't good. I'm going to look through some old pictures.

If those are the only photos you have then my reaction is no, this is not a good decal. Look at the "split" in the two runes...they go way over center for my liking. (At least that's how it looks to me on this oblique angle).

If this helmet was offered to me I would turn it down for the fact I don't feel comfortable with the decal going on those pics.
Like Darryl mentioned the slice in the rune is deep but I don't like the weay the construction looks from the photo's. I've looked at it several times and I can't get good detail of the construction. I felt this way from your first post but wanted to hold off. This is one I really need to handle if these are the only photo's avaliable.

If you look close you can definitely see an outline of a decal under the top decal.
