Yes, it looks real good...and a little more rare than normal. This was a DD M40 by the looks of it. Nice find.

What would be the going price?

That's so hard to say. Depending on who you are buying this from I would say you will pay anywhere between $2500 and $3500. A real DD M40 just sold on the Collector's Guild site for $4600 but it had the party decal still intact. The only thing against this one (and it's minor) is that the liner appears to have been treated.

What is the seller's price if you don't mind my asking?

Nick do you have a link to where the helmet is at because for some reason the pics are not fully downloading for me. Only the first one (the decal) came out clear. The rest are very blurry.
The decal in my opinion is 100% right and a damn nice one at that....
For me to estimate the price I need to see what the overall look of the rest of the helmet is and what has been done to the liner...

That's a shame but it's still what it is...a real SS helmet.

Nick, got your pics, many thanks. All were clear..

Now, as I said this a feel is a 100% original SS helmet with a few liability's, or if you just want to say things that were done to it that effect the value very much.
I'm not sure it's a M40DDWSS just yet, I really would need to see it first hand to determine that. It could be reissued from the Heer for instance. It being painted feldgray (green) it could certainly be possible, this you must consider as it can effect value very much.
As mentioned the liner looks heavily oiled, effects value. And the helmet I feel has had a through cleaning, again effecting value. Both of the latter two keep it from being considered a untouched example. Something collectors such as myself really like to see..
Keeping this in mind and assuming I'm not convienced for sure it's a DD when I handle it I would consider it in the $1700-$2000 area. If I felt it was indeed a DD I would value it around $3,000-3,300 area.
I must say again the % of the decal really helps this one greatly and it would be nice to see if it really is M40DDWSS.
