    Interesting Helmet site

I did a general search on Heer helmets and this site was near the top of the page. I am under the impression that these are reproduction helmets as this individual talks about time consuming to do. It is strange as there is nothing else to this site but this one page. Very strange.

His site is still there. Just go to www.thehelmetpainter.com

A guy in California does this. His helmets look ok but I don't think they would fool an experienced collector up close. I like the M42 SS "Dot" pattern helmet.

Kinda scary, as some of these look pretty good. Thanks for posting the whole site. I could not find it. I wonder what he is asking for these helmets, or if people are supplying him with their own shells for painting.

This one's kind of nice. I like the "original" apple-green showing through. I think he charges about $300-350 for painting/aging and customers supply the shells.

Rick has been in no mans land for at least a year. I purchased a couple of originals from him off the bay quite awhile back. Still have one of them that I'll never sell. Doesn't answer emails and his website hasn't been updated in a couple of years.

My FIRST EVER German helmet purchase was a shell that I sent to him going on four years ago that is STILL posted in his "new" helmet section.

            That's four years.

Curious enough, the one I still have he had posted up as some of his "work".

            It isn't.

Which one's that Chris? Is it still on his site?

I think that some of these lids can fool quite some new collectors.

Despite the fact that he sells them as reproductions you never know what the buyer will do with it. Pretend to be a lady that found it in the attic and sells it on ebay perhaps ?

He took it down around the time he sold off some originals. I see originals still posted up. They're both heers and one I passed on because the liner was pretty rough, that and I had already bought two. Both used to be posted up as his work.

Here's the one he did for me. It's still up as a new helmet. Compare that to the Heers still posted up. There is no comparison.

Here's the two I purchased from him that were posted as his work. It's obvious that they are not. My keeper still fills the room with "that" smell..

That is good to konw, because When looking at some of these, I ewould have bought them as originals! Some of the camos I would not think were original, but the Heer looked good, for good reason I suppose.
