Phew... after my previous purchase I managed to get my money back - I hope you like this one. I should have gone to a trusted source in the first place - oh well, it's a learning curve...

That chinstrap is a very well known fake which is made in the Czech republic. The numbers are called an Rb number, which was a secret code to identify a certain maker of goods. It was used in Germany during WW2 to protect the identities of companies producing goods for the German war machine. The liner has been oiled, and the decal is too hard to make a judgement from the photos provided. The shell is original, and the paint and shell have some pitting, but not bad overall. The thing that bothers me about the paint / shell is the side rivet area looks like it is rubbed down to bare metal (shiney, new bare metal) which is a sign of fake ageing. Or, it could just be the lighting in the photo??

I did a thread about "blackened but not Cajon liners" before and most of us agreed, "If the liner's black, the helmet's goin back."
Make sure you show us what you have in mind of purchasing BEFORE you buy. It'll save you a lot of postage. Sincerely, we all want what's best for you Haydn.Originally posted by prussian.guard View Postagreed.the liner is one of those worrying black ones, the decal doesn't look good from the pics and the chinstrap looks like a latvian sweat shop job.imo its a put together helmet from parts and fakes
