It almost looks like the decal was de-Nazified and then re-Nazified, but that should be evident just looking at the decal close up. Does look strange though.
Good eyes on the postion of the decal in relation to the feet guys...! I never noticed that. I see it now that you guys pointed it out. In the pics the swaz looks much whiter than on the helmet..... The swaz and the birds right wing are in much better shape and brighter than the rest of the bird. As for being de-nazified, that could be a possibility, could also have been a mis-application of the decal.....As a modeler I know this can happen very easy. Hey Superraton, if you don't want the helmet in lite of these observations no problem, just let me know. Regards, Chris
Ok, I managed to get some time to take some straight on close ups....Tell me what you think? I think maybe the swaz was mis-applied and scooted up during the transfer possibly? Does the swaz look touched up to any of you, and if so how? Is it possible to overpaint finely with white between the black border like that? Regards, Chris
That's interesting. It looks like the swastika broke away during application and was reapplied at the wrong angle. You can see a small portion in the eagles claw at the correct angle.

Nice close-up by the way!
I would agree, the small portion is clearly visible, thanks for the close up!
Chris: that kind of painting is possible of course, but, as far as I can see, no trace here.
Thanks for your opinions.....I feel better about the helmet now! So it looks to be un-adultered, just that the swaz slid up during application is the most likely theory. It makes sense too, looking at the outline of the swaz, you can see the border and the faded clear around the border. Looks to not have been messed with. I just love having a 10 megapixel camera......It captures things I can't make out under a loop!

could that be due to an application error? i'd think that back when M35s were produced and decaled the Jerries had plenty of time to apply them not like in the days of the M42s under allied air raids etc. could it be a fake? just asking...
that would make me stay away but looks like you did OK, good deal!

A lot of decals are not perfectly applied, on M35, 40 or 42. A lot of examples around.
Fred is absolutley right. Alot of decals were not perfectly applied.
Infact there is a DD Police helmet shell under discussion and the eagle is was applied rather bad. But its real. No problems with this one, IMO.

Gary
That's me guys.....I kept getting pulled everytime I listed it. Without pics or even mention it had decals. So I put some wrap over it to see if it would go the seven days! Looks like it did! Here's what's under the wrap!

Ah Chris! The victim of the Politically correct e-bay censor!!!
