Opinions on named M40 SD Luft, Camo?

Hi guys,

After reading for a long while, I decided to take the helmet plunge with this named M40 SD Luftwaffe helmet. I have a few questions on it:
1. Does everything look original?
2. What is the market price for a helmet like this?
3. There are traces of red paint over different parts of the helmet. (See around the decal/grommet and other pics) Is this consistent with a camo helmet or the remains of someone removing a complete repaint? Post-war?

From the pictures it looks like someone has removed a outer layer of paint and the original finish has suffered somewhat.

Yes it looks like some strip of a Red? paint.

Thanks guys, yeah I figured a complete repaint when I saw the red as well. Does the rest look good to you? What are they going for in this condition? I think I did well on it for $250.

Pricewise probably $200 or so maybe up to $250 with a strong wind behind you .Rob.

I think 250$ was a fair price for the helmet
Not a super deal but on the other hand I think you will be able to get your money back if you on day decides to part with it.
