the helmet has chips yet still retains paint within the chips,eagle is too fresh looking and where has the patina gone for a 60 year old helmet i would even go as far as saying the outside has been repainted.imo might be wrong but the eagle aint good

Unfortunately a post-war application.

If you get caught in the minutae of detail, you are not assessing the authenticity in the best objective manner.

Take a step back, there are major concerns not requiring close scrutiny that categorise this decal as post-war.

I'm sorry for the present custodian & hope you have an honourable outcome.

That decal Powdermonkey posted can be found all over the net. I have seen it many times in my search for fake decals. A lot of sites carry it.
