    Feldherrnhalle Helmet DD M35

    Hi,
Long time collector, very, very junior member of forum. Hope I can get this to post. Not very computer savvy!
Went to Joliet Illinois Military Show a few weeks back and picked up a M35 DD Feldherrnhalle Helmet. Would like to post that to helmet forum can't seem to do it. Not sure if I'm allowed to as a new member. Further down the page it says:You may not post attachments.
Tried to post a picture of an NSKK Overseas hat thet I got at the same time on the Cloth Hats portion of the site. Couldn't do that one either. Computer stupid I guess.

Can't get it to take image. Can anybody help?
    Thanx,
    Tim Alexander

        Waiting on DSL Mailbox

I'm looking for the email. Don't think I can post anything. Went to Firearms Forum and did a URL connection for firing my MG42. As soon as I get the email I'll get back to you.
        Thanx,
        Tim

                      Explanation

                      To explain more at length:
The guy that had this at the show, got it along with the overseas hat in a bag of American stuff with the helmet and hat at the bottom of the bag.
It has no liner, 1931 aluminum band or split rivets. They weren't in the bottom of the bag separated from the helmet. I have already farmed it out to get the proper band, a somewhat salty liner and rivets put into it. The rivets will have to be painted to match the rest of the helmet. I realize that some purists would leave it alone the way it is, but I really want it to be a complete piece. I personally will never misrepresent it as anything but the original shell with the rest added back on.
Thanx for the help on posting pictures.
                      Tim

Don't know if this will help. I didn't know that the Feldherrnhalle helmets came in a variation with a LW eagle.

I might not spell it right, but the word is synchronicity. Or KISMET. I had been looking for a Feldherrnhalle and had contacted someone on the 'Left Coast' to see if he had one. No luck and then this one fell in my lap.
As to Luft Eagle, look at the book by Ludwig Baer:
THE HISTORY OF THE GERMAN STEEL HELMET 1916-1945

                            pages 316 to 319.

I think it is so cool that the FHH was redesignated as an Airborne Regiment. They also served as cadre for the 2nd Fallschirmjager later on in the war!

At first glance, yours has the right "look" to it. Need much closer and sharper pictures of the FH decal however to tell for sure. Noted that it is not in your possession at the moment, but when you get it back, if you could take some detailed close-ups of the FH decal that would help greatly!

                              Regards,
