A Most Unusual Lightweight Parade Helmet

I have never seen another helmet like this. It is made of aluminum and is the shape of the Model 1935, but with 'horns' of the earlier era. I cannot find any markings, other than the size stamp on the liner.

The paint is a smooth green, on the interior and the exterior was period repainted with a rough, combat style, finish. The four rivits all retain the smooth green finish like the interior.

    Any ideas?

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

If the helmet hasnt been monkeyed with post war I think you have a helmet modified by an officer (maybe active maybe retired) So he could wear it on the parade grounds in the total war years 43 44 45 and look like his contempory LANDSERs ..I doubt they were having too many parades of at this point like the the glory years..I ve seen another lightwieght similiarly painted..Billbert

                felt

Question regarding the felt(?). Are those types of chew marks from a rodent or silverfish, etc? Reason being is that I have similar damage on 2 of my helmets. Neat helmet by the way.

                Thanks
