There is one other, and oh man it moved for some serious money. Yours is not worth as much because my chicken soup would spill out, just kidding, nice helmet Bob. Why don't you get into helmets and sell me all your cuff-titles?

      Dr. Strangelove,

I don't get into helmets much because they are so often debated. I am completely comfortable with cuff titles, but so knowledge weak on helmets. The cuff titles have been faked, but nothing so close as an original. Helmets that are being done, even as I type, will reside in collections for years to come.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Bob I would say helmets are safer than cuff titles, but I don't know cuff titles.

This helmet is a what I believe to be a totally unique helmet, I think it was shown here before when it was praised. I don´t know why this is not getting much attention this time. I think there were only two authentic SS wired helmets shown in this Forum and this is one of them. I would love to have a chance to own this piece.

If Im not wrong this is the second genuine SS chicken I've ever seen...the first should have been Bill Shea's one with small holes chicken wire...

              Congrats!

                  Hi Emilio,
I didnt know that! You mean the one on Radovic? If yes that was a damn good fake! I did not check the decal by close up but I remember it was quite convincing to me!
                  Thanks anyway!
                  Cheers

The other authentic wired SS helmet I was referring to was a full basket M42, at that time it belonged to Kelly Hicks, but only a mid distance picture came up.
Along with camo SS helmets, wired SS ones are among the rarest helmets. I would bet wired SS are even much rarer than camo ss.

Bob;If I am not mistaken(it's been along time)but I have seen these collections back in the day and I can remember it was eather William R. Maertz,James H.Peterson,James Bandy or Al E. Barrows that had a couple of these chicken wire SS helmets.I think it was Al as Dan Liptak told me about them and I saw them at Al's house in NY.He tried to trade me the chicken wire and some cash for one of my DD Allgemeine SS ear cut out helmets. If I remember William Maertz had a chicken wire one as well. There was a guy from Norway(I can not remember his name)that had a helmet collection next to none that had some real SS camo with chicken wire helmets that every collector back in the day knew and was waiting for him at the first MAX show.I do not remember if he showed up or not.Do any of these names ring a bell with you?I remember Russ Hamilton had a lot of camo but I do not know if he had SS as I never saw his collection.

Super looking wire ss Q! Typical ss Q decal imo, and wire seem been there for ever.
Do you still have it Bob?
