WWI stahlhelm with cover??

this is the first time that I see a cloth cover for a WWI stahlhelm.
It is not really my collecting speciality, those WWI sthalhelmets.
Some comments, maybe?

helmet covers

I've never actually handled a WWI helmet cover for an M16, but there are plenty of period photographs where you can see them being used. The impression that I have is that there were as many that were manufactured covers as there were field made pieces, made out of a sack or some other piece of cloth.

With something like this, I would go with my gut. If it's been on the helmet for 90 years it should look like it.

Never handled one, but wish I had...

By the way, if that ring around the right ventilation lug corresponds to the reinforced are of the cover, I think it would be a good thing, right?

I have one that I believe to be real. But I don't have a picture of it. I will try to photogragh it over Thanksgiving and post.
