I have seen this seller sell and buy quite a bit on E-bay. He usually buys post war rebuild stuff, and then makes something like this out of it. He sells his recreations as such. Are there known problems with this seller? Now I am curious.

Mike, are you reading my mind? This is the other helmet I was going to post, but for very different reasons. Celticwhite lists some helmets that can fool many collectors I think. Why would "helmetbuyers" bid on it though, he must know about this guy.

He's a member here under a different name. Had a low end up on estand recently.

My problem with him is this. I have nothing against restorations. Done a few in my time. What I DO have a problem with is using original scrub helmets and liners as a canvas.

You do a restoration, you start with a stripped shell. You paint up an original helmet, add an original liner ?? That is selling with the outcome being fraud down one step down the line.

              My opinion only

All the helmets Celticwhite sold are post war re-done.

                    I agree Chris

Why is Helmet up to $690.00, do people not want to believe,
If a repro is all repro, It is what it is, and many people want them because of original prices.
Frustrates me seeing this going on,,, someone could really have a nice REAL Helmet instead .....

                    Just my 2 cents..................

                    Mark.

I agree Mark, not sure why some people are bidding this thing close to $700. It's a $300 repro. I guess they're not reading the whole description.

I agreed with you even our dear follow member "FLACK" got caught on the descripton...Sorry FLACK I mean the trap the seller used in his auction. Cheers Mike

People don't really read descriptions at ebay. I PLAINLY state in the description of any item I sell on ebay that I CANNOT send pictures without an email address. I put my email addy in bold letters.

I ALWAYS get a half dozen requests through the ebay system without their email addy.

With that in mind there's probably 5 bidders bidding on that helmet that think it's real.

A pure put together and sold as it sell for the price of a genuine classic helmet (such as M35 Heer SD)? That's crazy
