    Number stamped in M35 helmet

Hi Guys, I came across this number stamped in an M35 helmet. The helmet is an ex Norwegian issue one. Has anyone seen this before? The number begins 21..... and the rest has been struck out.
The helmet is an "SE66" with a lot number of "077".
    Cheers, Ade.

    Adrian...

I have never seen any shell stamped numbers that have been struck out before.

But I have seen wartime produced helmets without any stampings at all...some with incomplete and partial stampings, some as double strikes, etc.

Here is one for debate; I know a private collector in MN who has a bare metal shell (from Austria) that has "Toltz" stamped into the shell.

This is a WWI model Austrian shell and we both concluded there was some possiblity that it was used at the SS training school...the markings can be faked of course, but this is very well struck and appears to be placed into the shell a very long time ago.

The helmet was purchased in a batch lot of helmet shells and it was not identified as anything unique until the marking was located.

    Original...? Anyone's guess.
