Need help for this leather liner!!!!

I bough this M42 CKL 66 helmet couple weeks ago via e-stand, I don't know why the leather liner is bother me so much. Would need help from members opinion please. Thanks in advance

HI Mike I will stick my neck out and say the liner is ok looks to me like a late war liner, but please show a few more photos also of the outside of the helmet to make an judgment But we need some more opinions!

the liner looks fine to me, similar to some I have seen before in period helmets.

I would say pigskin leather.
