ss helmet painted chrome or silver?

I have been told that german ss helmets also were painted in chrome or silver

Does anyone know if this is correct or pure fantasy?

Sounds like fantasy relative to the ss, though senior level members of the civil fire service did on occasion wear a combed helmet having a silver finish.

My very first Nazi helmet was a chrome plated Stahlhelm 35 biker special.

I just bought one the other day for $50 USD, about what they are worth.

As far as I am concerned the post war use by the Hell's Angles was to piss off the WWII vets. Which it did. Which is part of the story.

Most of the original Hells Angels were WWII vets...
But I'm sure they did it to piss off someone
