Yeah, youre right, its the webbing suspension from an M1 liner.

Yes, I agree an M-1 liner in an original german helmet shell. Painted emblems???? don't know, what they are for.

It's a shame the helmet has reached around $140 already, it's the first German helmet I've seen with a U.S. suspension type liner. I would have picked it up for the novelty aspect of the piece if it were much cheaper, even though it is clearly a "Frankenstein."
