New Heer SD M35, never been in collection

    Hi guys,
    just received this baby today.
It was found in a house in Saint Malo a few weeks ago and was sent to me by the guy who found it.

I wrote SD as we can only see the bird, but I can see traces of the tricolor under the reissued paint.

The shell is ET 64, rusty as you can see and has a few white paint spots outside/inside. The gren colour is still present, a lot of old dust in it, specially around the liner.

The liner is marked size 57 and still really souple, there are 2 small pieces of net on it (each side of the liner buckles)

Chinstrap well marked "G.SCHIELE LOBURG 1939", dry, some really old moisture on it.

That's really not the helmet of the century but I'm pleased to have it now, as it has never been in collection before.

                    Interesting find.
To know where it came from must be very cool.
                    Sorry, thought you were finished.

Thanks Derek, you're right: it's really exiting!
That's the second helmet in my collection which I know where it was (the first one is a pith helmet, found in a friend's home in CANNES).

I have to add that during and after the war, the old man who had it at home was repairing radios: there's a big radio in 3 elements lying in the cellar...I'm waiting for more infos and pics from my friend.

                              Salut Francis, c'est sur!!!!!!

The guy who sent it to me asked me: "do you want it like this or do you want me to paint it?"

                              I've saved this one....
