Helmet price

Hello mates
Urgent opinions requested, please.
I have no idea how much a WWII german Heer or Waffen SS helmet could cost.
There's an ukrainian guy I know that is going back home for a while and told that where he lives there are lots of small markets selling old military items including german WWII stuff and helmets too.
He also said that 150/250 euros are enough to buy an "original" helmet.
Is that possible in your opinions?
Please let me know.

Fabio, everything is possible in collecting but remember good bargains are pretty rare nowadays, and I would be always scared to spend money (specially in eastern europe) without having a good photo or having in hands the item, I think you shall be careful: even if your mate is a good friend, maybe he doesn't know what he'll see and buy for you?

My good friend and militaria dealer sold me amongst other think a fake ss helmet. At least your are quoting a reasonable price. Be careful and get informed opinions before you buy anything. Jacques

Hi a good price for a heer helmet... Well let's take an m40 SD those look like 'the most normal ones' to me; you will pay about 600euro for a nice used one. An SS M40 SD you will pay about 3000euro.

About Ukrain... All those counties are famous for copies so you'll better stay out of there

Or ground-dug lids in a pretty good shape?
Complete helmets (liner, chinstrap,...) in a good state go over 300€...

3000 euro for a M40 SD SS, hmmm don`t think so......
One in good shape goes around 4000-4500 euro these days.

Thank you to all the ones who gimme their appreciated opinions.
You know what I will do?
I will give him 150 dollars and tell him to buy me an "original" one.
I know he'll bring me a fake one but otherwise I would never in my life spend 1000 or more dollars for a collectable item, even a mint one!
So I will "play" with my cheap and nice copy.

3000 euro ? I think a bit more than that, unless its in rough shape.

Fabio, if u save another 150€, u sometimes can buy a complete helmet for 300€ (I bought a complete M42 ND for 245€). So you have the pleasure of having a 'cheap' original rather than a 150€ fake.
