I have a very decent SD army M40 shell but it only has the helmet band inside and no leather for whatever reason. I obtained it in a trade deal and am looking to sell it now, but I am having a very hard time deciding how to price it as most helmets on the market are complete. Anyone have any advice for me?

How to value a helmet shell

It may have more value to you as a display piece. It looks pretty neat as it is. The value would be further reduced by having the band "played with", but not enough to say it "junk". I think you could sell it on the e-stand for $250-$300 pretty easily, IMHO. By the way, what size and maker?

The shell is marked EF66. The liner band is dated 1940 and is a size 58. I would have thought that this would have had more value as I see parts such as the liner band and split pins sell for quite a bit on their own on certain sites. Maybe I should separate the shell from the liner band and sell everything individually to get the price I am looking for.
