I think it's not a fake, price for the helmet with decal like that will not be high, and to me helmet looks like cleaned from surface rust, some of the rust( old rust) can be seen over the decal

I tend to think that decal is good. The texture and surface looks consistent with the rest of the helmet.

Dave,
Not a bad piece. It is definitely salty but it is a true 'been there, done that' piece. Helmets are about history and that one saw it.

SS pieces are hard to afford. Hopefully you are getting a good price on it.

helmet has arrived,i have a 7 day money back on this but i go away friday afternoon so i will have to make my mind up sharpish on this,i have posted some closer pics of decal it seems to be quite glittery, thanks dave

what did worry me was the left side of the border it seems to have been silver under the black or is that how they are meant to be?
