M42 Whats Original And Whats Not?

hello all, havent been on in a while. I came across this helmet and most of the parts looks real but leary about the shell. It seems it's not clean, the metal is rippely around the rim. I know it has a fake decal and fake chinstrap. Rivet are marked 1944, the shell is marked ckl66, right below that is marked 2823 also marked inside the liner and dated "44". The liner band is dated "1943"
Please let me know what what you all think, all opinions welcome.

Thats a real WW2 era helmet shell. The later M-42's were notorious for having ripples / waves in the shell. They are most common encountered around the rim, and near the visor bend. War was rageing, and corners were cut. The liner is original as well. It is nicely marked, and all the stamps are correct for what you have. Also correct for a 1943 liner band, as it was assembled in 1944 with leftover liner band stock from 1943. How do you know the strap is a fake? From what little I can see, it appears to be old, Maybe real??? Show the strap and decal. The stamps on the shell are correct. Ckl 66 for the maker and size, the other number (2823) is the production lot. Looks like it was painted black post war? What are the markings on the liner rivets?

The rivets are marked B&C? 1944. I'll post pics of the chinstrap and decal in a while. Thanks for the info!

You said the rivets are dated 1944. Could you post a couple close-ups of them. Maybe someone can help determine if they're original.

Can't get a good close up of the rivets but I'll try.
