    Dan,

The helmet shell is indeed a Q (IMO).

      Hi Darryl,

To me, the dome looks too rounded to be a Q shell. The airvent hole also looks similar to an ET, which also makes me think it is an EF shell. Plus, the person who started the thread said it's suppose to be EF, and I had no reason to doubt it. Just my opinion

I just went to the site to view the seller's description. Even they say it's a Q...

BARN FIND SS MODEL 40 SINGLE DECAL COMBAT HELMET. A super barn find being a large size Q66 single decal SS M.40 shell and partial liner. The exterior retains virtually all of its original 1940 grey/green paint finish, it is complete with some items of light rust from storage showing through paint. The decal is 100% clear with four abrasions to the edges which can be seen clearly in our internet images. The interior aluminium liner band, inner felt band and a small degree of the leather remains, also one loose piece of leather plus the original chin strap, which at the time of this description being dictated is complete in the helmet and unbroken but very frail. Another superb example of some of the helmets we have been finding from Northern France over the last two or three years.

Q it is then. Thanks for correcting me. Good thing I said I'm no helmet shape expert

                Good 'ol "Barn Find"

A "Barn Make" is more realistic
