Need help on m1942? helmet...

This german helmet was found in the 60's by the grandfather of a friend of mine.
It haven't been done anything with it since then.
Need help.

It's not a 42 but a 40.Paint is probably post-war and without any signification,for me.But if you have a photo of the liner or the inside.

why is it yellow there the decal should be?
what is it worth?

You can see the real color on the top of your helmet where the black and yellow paint is scrape.Maybe some kids play with this helmet after war,or a real funny biker.

is it posible that it is decals under the paint?
it have a number innside but i don't remeber it...

any other opinions or coments everyone??

You can scrape the paint slowly,but it's not possibe to tell if a decal is under the paint before.

It is used as a target for me....Probably in a military rifle range...
