SS Decal Opinion Please

An opinion only. I'll defer to others, from my take there isn't a straight break in those runes anywhere in the decal.

if you look at the runes at the top and so on you can see they are not straight and as i said the bottom is to round kind regards

It was US.
If you look at TM Johnsons book on German War Booty page 40 you can see a SS decal with identical proportions in that it is rounded at the bottom the same as my one. Also page 74.
Would like someone if they can to post some images of genuine SS decals.

It's a reproduction decal and aged to look old.

I agree - this is a FAKE and a pretty well known one to those who collect these helmets - remember when you see this design its absolutely fake no matter how good it looks - this design was never used and its a hybrid of things that make it look real but its not. There are a lot of helmets out there being bought and sold with this decal on it. -C

You might do more damage trying to take the decal off. If you cant return it I would leave it.

No way scrape it!
If it was cheap enough you could have it as a nice display piece even though you know its not the genuine article.
Get a real one to satisfy that need seperately.

you will achieve nothing scraping it.
It then becomes a fake SS helmet with scraped off decal....what was the point.
