what kind of chinstrap I need to complete a LW SD M40?

hello guys,

I need to complete my LW SD M40 lid Q64 with a chinstrap. Can i put a unmarked chinstrap or its not correct? What marked chinstrap I need then......? I have many posibilities to find the correct chinstrap?

Marked or unmarked doesn't really matter, as straps were changed frequently during the war. If you have a minty helmet, than a 41 or earlier marked strap would fit nice. I have also seen Q64 luftwaffe helmets original with rb numbered straps. ??? I guess it what you like.

You're in luck with the Q because they made the M40s (unlike the other makers) till the end of the war. So anything dated 1940 or later, RBnr or unmarked will do nicely.
Just make sure it's a real one and matches the liner in condition (so it looks like it belongs there).
