there seems to be evidence that contradicts what you are saying here.

I don't think willysproject is overstepping his boundries , he got an email from your ebay account with an invoice (with your data on it) and a personal one from you (with pictures) as I have received.
So if you could place yourself in his mind for a second I think you would also want to know what is going on. Replying in the way that you did does not trigger empathy for your case.

Something similar happened to me, with a few differences. I checked ebay one day, and found I had 4 new auctions. Somebody in the UK had hi jacked my entire selling page..image host , everything. I hit spoof@ebay, and within 2 hours, all were cancelled. BUT...for several months people were writing to me, looking for the goods or the money back.
I don't know Mr Crouch, but in my experiance, ebay moved quickly on a fraud issue. It could be he just didn't pay attention, and the problem grew exponentially. But, again, ebay moved very fast with a real id highjack and fraud. ( I had to change all major passwords, ebay, email, paypal, etc)
Sad to say, I think more explanation needs to be forthcoming.

I can vouch for Mr. Crouch.
He is a straight shooter. I have done more than one helmet deal with him and he is a no B.S.'er!!!!
The transformation of this thred has me shaking my head...

Your recomendation is good enough for me.
Its a bit like the old question, "are you still beating your wife?"

Forgt about the I can voutch this or that. All Mr Croutch needs to do is post all his comms with ebay here in the same format ( print screen) as Willysproject did. So any more comments I think will cloud the issue. Over to you Mr Croutch

I have no idea what's going on here but as an experienced ebayer, I can say this.........

I had my account hijacked and the next thing I knew I was selling everything from motorcycles to blenders and getting emails.

The only thing I could figure was..... it happened when I opened a attachment from a "alert" in "my ebay".

The hijacking actually took place from inside my ebay account. The first thing that happened was my password was changed, without my having done it, and then the fun started.

I got it all stopped after about three days of contacting ebay, but I had to abandon everything and even changed my paypal account.

I don't open messages from ebay, even when I'm logged on in my own account anymore.

Also consider........ some people like to make a mess, just to entertain themselves.

It's always a good idea that with any email from paypal or ebay to "right click" any links givin. The majority of time, the address shown in "properties" has no relation to either ebay or paypal.

I get notices from banks on my paypal account that of course don't come from any bank

This is all very unnerving. I thought it would have been near impossible for someone to take over or "hijack" someone else's eBay account. I haven't had any of these nightmare problems in 6 years of eBay, yet. I don't open any of their alerts or other messages and I'm certainly not going to start now.

Marc, did eBay give you any indication of how someone did this or how to avoid it from happening again in the future? I assume you lost all of your feedback having to start over.

                    NO, NO & YES.

Ebay is just about impossible to talk to. The first two days was just getting canned replys that start with how much they appreciated my patronage and lame advice on how to manage my account.
Finally.... I was told they would suspend my account and I could get in and request a different password to reactivate it. They also said I might want to consider making changes to my paypal account...... "just in case"
That told me they pretty much didn't have a handle on what was going on and I couldn't get to paypal fast enough.
They actually have people you can talk to, once you figure how to do it.
I started over with everything and just figured worse things can happen in life
No harm was done to me (if you don't count the spike in BP) and now I don't open anything............ period

Regardless of the outcome of this very contentious issue, I would be infuriated if somebody revealed my home address on a public forum .

I understand the anger and frustration involved in a situation like this but considering the enormous exposure that this very public forum receives, revealing home addresses is a big no no. In the wrong hands...

Sorry i have nothing against anybody but i just would like to understand this sad story !
A question i would ask to Marc and Paul . Were they items that you owned when you were highjacked ?
Here , in the same time this guy knew Derek was the real owner of this helmet but also his Ebay ID to take it
So , either he's someone who realy knows Derek well enough or the highjacker ,with just few pics of a helmet , doing all the research work on the net (find the owner , if he's on Ebay , his ID etc ..) to finaly only sell one helmet for a small price ????
Si much work for so few , that is something that disturb me a little

I've edited some posts to remove Dk Crouch's home address...

For the rest, I don't believe a word of the hijaking story...

Did this hijacker only put the SS helmet up for auction? Because the last 3 days, you've sold 2 other helmets as well on Ebay. And what about your other auctions? Some are still runnning at the moment of speaking... Are these put up by the very same hijacker as well? I mean all the coins, etc... Or are these auctions being discussed on another coin forum???

Come on...! The only point in this discussion is to gain time, at least about another 7 days... Why? Because according to YOUR auction: the buyer needs to pay within 10 days... What will YOU do after these 7 days? Give me negative feedback because I would be a non-paying bidder???

                            Sorry,

But what does this prove? It's just an ordinairy auto-reply from ebay... Even if one contacts "The ruptered duck" you receive this kind of auto-message...

                              OK, you guys want evidence...?
Here is evidence... Some print -screens of this helmet being discussed on another forum... One of the members there informed the seller, Dk Crouch, that the helmet is an good one and that he has auctioned a good SS helmet for 530 USD...
