                  One word for it...
                  Killer..
Did this one by chance come from Russ Hamiliton long ago? I talked to him once and he mentioned a camo M42 SS that he wish he had back. It had a paint arounf decal that he felt was covered with oil or something when they painted it...I think he said he purchasd it from the vets family if I recall...

                            Named SS M-42 Camo "Hitlerjugend"

                            Hello Ty,

Below some photos of an SS M.42 SD camo (spring camo).

This helmet belonged to a soldier (research with the name associated with the Feldpost number) of the 2nd Company of SS-Pz. Gren Rgt. 26 (12° SS-Panzer-Division "Hitlerjugend"), this soldier was wounded during the attack on the city of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse in Normandy on june 8, 1944.
Helmet was found after the battle of Normandy in 1944, in the city of l'Aigle, 60 km south of Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse.

                            Happy collecting!

Hi Philippe ! Absolutely a great helmet !!

The research makes the difference. Love the colors on yours. I don't know much about mine except it was an airborne pickup from Market Garden. Either 82nd or 101st. Most of the SS during Market Garden were supposable near Nijmegen where the 82nd was. So assuming it was a 82nd airborne pickup it was from the Hohenstaufen or Frundsberg grenadiers. The tan camo would presumably match the camo paint for their tanks. The previous owner did the this limited research. Would like to find a way to look up some more information on "Deierling 234",
                              Anyone have any helpful tips?
