Killer cap though, but who will have any reference on that ? Quite unique it is, I wouldn't mind owning it.

      cap

Thanks for the responses, I know it's a weird question on the embroidery but I've been told by a couple of people that I showed the cap to that it resembled Italian embroidery. I guess they might have meant something like the embroidery on the front of the Alpini caps and other Italian headgear. I've never seen a heer fieldcap w/ direct embroidery either. only seperatly embroidered pieces of insignia. I have read in Gunter's book on the Skijager that Oberst Hans von Schlebrugge who was the Commander of the 1st Ski-Jager-Brigade until mid- May '44 later comanded the Hochgebirgsschule in Fulpme in the Tirol. I know it is theoretical, but the pictures of him show wearing a very similar looking if albeit, quite generic looking private purchase or's mountain cap. Probably too much to hope for but, I have Georg Gunter's address and I am planning to send him pics of the cap and see if he has any more shots of Schlebrugge. I'm not hopeful, but we'll see. I will post the pics and captions about Schlebrugge, but I am thinking of asking the author's permission first.

      Thanks, Mark
