Unusual SS Helmet

Hi,
heres one of my helmets ,
DD M35 several layers of paint,this helmet has been overpainted a number of times a 1st pattern decal is visible beneath the 2nd pattern the paint is worn to reveal the layers,unknown what the textured material is only its very hard.this helmet was brought into a local antiques shop and was very cheep as was in rough condition?

Really Cool Helmet Merdock.
Is it repainted with a very textured paint, or is it Zimmerit ? Appears there could be some whitewash there too?

I don't think it's zimmerat it is a metalic substance don't know what it is?

Looks like an interesting piece.
But why should they put a second pattern decal on a 1st? I dont understand why they should do that.

No, this one's a reproduction in my opinion. It's not even made correctly. Very round bottom...I'll see if I can find one like it to post...
