A friend of mine is able to buy this hat.. Because we both don't have the knowledge about these hats, I would like to hear some opinions from you guys

The hat is a fake.

EREL caps were of the highest quality. Insignia looks bad. On the interior, the sweatband is not even close to what EREL hats had. Also, the markings under the sweatshield are wrong.

Cap looks "cheap",nothing like a Erel and the eagle is a wellknown fake.

I concur, Bad. The same reasons given. Also go to sponsers site or search forum for a correct visor and lookat the front insignias and compare. Ill think you will see the difference.

I add my negative vote. But do look at the piping, which is as much a dead give away as all the other screwed up traits pointed out by my insightful, sharp eyed colleagues. Further, the imprint on the Muetzenboden is wrong for this organization, but I shall not say how it is thus. My colleague in Australia has a Lw cap collection of several megatons, and his images are a welcome corrective to this ugly fake. I apologize to any other Luftwaffe cap collector I may have slighted. I got rid of a nice early one from Hamburg, with a patent leather peak and a silver roundel in the Kokarde, as well as an early Hoheitszeichen. Viel Sammlerglueck.
