    Late Heer M43 Cap

    Gent's,

Here is a late Army M43 that came in recently. Rayon lining, E44 dated, machine sewn insignia. Almost a feldgrau 44 colour to this one but not quite.

Has all the details that I like to see. Not sure of the 22 marking but my guess would be a factory material bolt stamp. Interesting as the RB# starts with a 9..

    Hope you like it...

When you refer to a '44 feldgrau color is this a brown green?

                  Thanks Perry,

Yes,more brown than green.. There is a very slight hint of brown in this one.

This one was from a US Veteran for those who want to study the construction details..

Nice Glenn - Here is one of my favorites from my collection. Excellent (hesitate to say near mint) cap that has a name tag inside. Totally untouched insignia factory applied on Italian wool and the best I have ever handled in this style.

hey Guys. I havent crossed paths with you two in awhile. both cool looking caps. Im still on the hunt. at the MAX I saw a real nice 1943 dated one but didnt even seriously ponder buying it as He was a local collector and I forgot my camera. I still am learning the "secrets" to these. one day... Glenn

Hi Glenn - How did we miss seeing each other at MAX? I saw a bunch of forumites there. I was causing trouble with the helmet homos in the Adam's Mark hotel Friday night or Craig's party Thursday.

Seriously, real ones just have a look. My term is "slouch".

Very nice Glenn! I would love to see this one set up with a 'feldgrau 44' M44 tunic and maybe even with a last ditch k98 -- are you going to include the cap in one of your displays?

Glenn - Great display! My brain cramp on MAX. I will be at SOS too, missed you last year (Harry, Marty and I will be together).
